Our new beach:
Our community and those who love our beaches have tried for many years to have our beach engineered and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers. In the spring of 2005, Dewey and Rehoboth Beaches were replenished and we expect regular maintenance every 3 years. The beach should remain at or close to the size it is now.

The current size allows us many advantages that are important to our visitors and residents. Of course, protection from storms is a significant factor. Other benefits include beach sports, more private space and better services all for beachgoers enjoyment! Our beach can now accommodate volleyball, Frisbee, ball throwing, paddle ball and other fun activities that might require more space to play without disturbing your neighbors. Our beach services can again use motorized vehicles to serve your food and beverage needs or provide chairs, umbrellas and rafts. A bigger beach with lots of people and space to put your towel down is good for everyone!

The construction is over but Mother Nature has not finished. The sand that was moved is still settling and we have more rocks and a steep drop at the beach break. The rocks mainly located at the waters edge will subside over time. The steep drop will also fade. Until it does you should be careful riding waves. Please ask the lifeguard on duty about any dangers before swimming.

Staff:
As a seasonal property in a resort town we must hire many new people each spring. For more than 15 years we have hired foreign students to fill our needs. Many businesses in resort areas now do the same. In the past several years these students predominantly come from Eastern Europe. These students have permission to work through a program called Work and Travel. They must have a job offer and then apply for a visa and then can work for the company that offered the job. A few each year return the following year but many go to other areas if they able to acquire another visa.

We provide housing and bicycles for these students. They are a huge benefit to the resort area. We simply have many more jobs during our season than we have people to fill them. A lot speak English reasonably well but they are all here to improve that skill as well as learn about Americans and our great country.

We enjoy hiring these students and we try to provide a fun place for them to spend the summer. We believe if our employees enjoy staying with us that will help our customers enjoy their stay.

Of course, we hire Americans as well. Everyone at the Atlantic Oceanside is happy to serve.

Outdoor Heated Pool:
The pool is opened (weather dependent) the first week of May and closed after the first weekend in October. The pool area is open to all motel guests. The pool is a refreshing treat after a day at the beach. We keep the pool at a comfortable level all season. The daily pool hours are from 9 am to nightfall (usually between 8 and 9pm).

Sundeck:
Located on the second level the sundeck is a great place to get some sun, gather with friends or watch the activity in town. There are lounge chairs and tables.

Outdoor shower/hose area:
For your convenience there are two areas to rinse the sand off. At the back of the building, closest to the beach you will find an open outside shower and hose. Another area is on the pool deck.

Rooms include:
Standard rooms include two full size beds (some rooms have one king), full bath, televisions with remote, data port telephone, air conditioning, hair dryer, microwave and refrigerator.

Other amenities include:
Two free movie channels, free wireless internet access, smoking and non-smoking rooms, fax service (fee), beverage and ice machines (fee).
