The Starboard Opening/Closing
The Starboard is simply a Dewey phenomenon. We open and close with the Starboard. Usually opening is St. Patrick’s Day Weekend and closing is the 2nd weekend in November. If you want to enjoy a unique weekend or you want to prepare for the summer or say good-bye to summer this is the time. Reserve early and prepare to be up late. Don’t worry about waking up the Starboard is famous for its Bloody Mary Bar, I’m sure that will help?

Race Weekends
Always popular weekends. The beach is the perfect way to spend this weekend especially if you stay Sunday. Why? It’s the BEACH. Why stay in Dover with crowd when you can relax at the beach before and after the race. And Sunday….All the race traffic is heading North. You go South have dinner, watch the sunset and spend the night with us. Leave on Monday and cruise home without traffic.

Memorial Weekend
This is the traditional start of the summer. Although we start our season much earlier than now. This weekend is really a kick-off party. People with kids should request to be toward the back of the building.

HSVL weekend
The second weekend in June is reserved for our Pittsburgh volleyball league. These guys and girls know how to enjoy the beach. They have been staying with us for several years and we hope many more. We hold all the rooms for them up until about two weeks prior to the weekend. We usually have some rooms available. On Saturday we have the craziest pool volleyball tournament ever. The league has all age groups and the atmosphere is very fun.

Independence Day weekend
Reserve early for this one. Fireworks are always on Sunday. A great weekend for everyone. Stay the whole week and get a great value.

Traditional final weekend of the summer. Not even close to the final weekend anymore.

Delaware Volunteer Firemen’s Convention
Each year we pay tribute to our courageous firemen. This week is usually during the second week of September. We are fortunate to have the Claymont Fire Company stay with us. During the week several members arrive early and attend meetings. Over the weekend the company most rooms are booked.
